Caption:
Turner's Cash Store, August 1945 Victory Notice | Additional Description: Another major historical event playing in the store's advertisements is end of World War II. Turner's Cash Store, now located in new Greenville, posted this ad in the August 23, 1945 edition of
The Greenville Sun. This ad comes from an entire page of similar notices from area merchants. In contrast to the Great Depression notice, the Victory notice indicates some change of perspective. Where as before the sentiment was to the local community, nine years later the perspective acknowledged global connectiveness.
