Caption: Dekorra Historical Well
Additional Description: This hand dug and rock lined well was built in the 1800s when Wisconsin was still a territory, prior to becoming a state in 1848. The town was renamed from Kentucky City to Dekorra in 1843 to honor the local Winnebago Chief who inhabited the area. This well provided fresh water to local residents until 1926.
