Additional Description: This piece is a rare example of a 12-pdr Field Howitzer produced by S. Wolff & Co., of New Orleans, Louisiana. Markings on the trunnions are "S. Wolff & Co. // 1862 // 2". The recessed area near the breech and raised base ring are unique to the Wolff howitzer for this caliber.
