Additional Description: The oldest inscribed monuments date to around 1850, but the cemetery was in existence by 1826. Post-Civil War monuments include marble statues purchased from Asheville monument dealer W. O. Wolfe. The statues in his father's tombstone shop inspired the title of Thomas Wolfe's first novel, Look Homeward, Angel.
