North Street, Leatherhead

Taken: Circa 1913
Caption: North Street, Leatherhead
Additional Description: Looking north on North Street, with the post office (now The Penny Black pub) visible here on the left, just beyond the carriage. The pub’s name is a nod to the building’s past as a post office, as a “penny black” was the the first adhesive postage stamp used in a public postal system.
