Early Federal Battle Line
Photographer: Craig Swain
Taken: March 16, 2009
Caption: Early Federal Battle Line
Additional Description: Looking south down Reconnoitering Road near the intersection of Peabody Road. Federal regiments, rousted from their camps by early skirmishing, managed to form a quick battle line a few hundred yards south along the high ground in the distance. At around 8:30, the 25th Missouri fell back to a new line near the tablet location, also along a line of high ground.
