Additional Description: This monument located at Mt. Vernon Place in Baltimore City was designed by William Henry Rinehart. It is a 1887 copy of the 1871 monument at the State House in Annapolis. Bronze is 7¼ feet tall on a 6 foot granite base. Roger B. Taney was appointed Chief Justice of the United states in 1836.
