Additional Description: Photo taken while the marker was down for maintenance, and before construction work was completed. Where the construction equipment is located in this photo, Lewis's brigade of Ramseur's division stood facing Averell's Federals. Averell flanked Ramseur's line to the north, where I-81 now passes.
