Additional Description: Frederick Hulaniski's 1917 The History of Contra Costa County, California notes: "...Fire Started August 19, 1904, in Stephenson patent cooler factory, wiping out two blocks, including the Curry livery stable, the opera-house, the Bank of Martinez, the McNamera-Winkelman Block, Rankin Building, and Commercial Hotel....."
