Additional Description: - where the brown waters of the Rio Solimões (center left) and the dark waters of the Rio Negro (bottom) phenomenally converge without mixing - to form the great Lower Amazon River, "open to the merchant ships of all nations" for more than 1,000 miles between here and the Atlantic Ocean.
