Additional Description: The plaque on the boulder in the Cemetery mentioned in photo 5 above, erected by the UDC. The text reads: To the women of Griffin and Spalding County who gave their services during the War Between the States from ’61 to ’65 James S. Boynton Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy have placed this boulder. ^ ^ ^ No act of injustice, no failure of duty, no shadow of wrong has left a blot upon these souls or a stain upon their memories. A.D. 1922
