Caption:
Potomac River at Dam #2 | Additional Description: Rowsers Ford was near the site of Dam #2, which spanned the Potomac near Lock #23 of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. The shallow water downstream from this dam was often used as ford. When Stuart's cavalry crossed, recent rains made the ford difficult.
