In This Garden 1881 - 1926 Luther Burbank wrought with living plants to bring the world greater fertility, wealth and beauty developing new varieties which produced better fruits and more beautiful flowers.
 
Erected 1938 by Historic Landmarks Committee, Native Sons of the Golden West.

Luther Burbank Home & Gardens, Sonoma County, has been designated Registered State Historic Landmark No. 234 by the California Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks, 1935.

Luther Burbank House and Garden has been designated a Registered National Historic Landmark under the provisions of the historic sites act of August 21, 1935. This site possesses exceptional value in commemorating and illustrating the history of the United States. U.S. Department of the Interior - National Park Service, 1964.

Luther Burbank Home & Gardens has been designated City Historic Landmark No. 7 by the Cultural Heritage Board, City of Santa Rosa, 1991.

Luther Burbank, March 1849 - April 1926, Home & Experimental Gardens. In memory of our citizen of the world, who's love for youth ad growing things was expressed in the work done in these gardens. The perpetual ownership of these grounds is now vested, through the generosity of Mrs. Burbank, in the City of Santa Rosa.
