Regarding Pioneer Oil Refinery. The refinery location is fenced off and access is not allowed, but a historical park is under construction (in 2023) and will be open to the public after a new industrial park is completed. The site is located near 23864 Pine Street, Newhall, California.
It is the oldest still-standing oil refinery in the Western Hemisphere (perhaps in the world). The site was designated California Historical Landmark No.172 on March 6, 1935. In 1984, Standard Oil of California changed its name to Chevron.
