Aaron and Eddie Matthews set the record for most home runs by teammates, beating Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig's record of 793. They end up with a total of 863 home runs together. The Braves owners decide to move the team to Atlanta. Their last game in Milwaukee is played in September, losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 7-6 in 11 innings.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. leads 4000 demonstrators on a march from Selma to Montgomery, AL to promote voting rights for Black Americans. State troopers attack the demonstrators
