Inscription. Mr. Steward (845-1935) was a Civil War Veteran, two term mayor of Liberty Center, and justice of the peace for Liberty Township for many years. This land was formally owned by him and has been given to the Village of Liberty Center by his great-granddaughter Bertha Leatherman.
