Inscription. Issac Ludwig Historic Mill. . The first water powered grist mill near this sit was built about 1885 by after manor, one of the earliest white settlers in this region. The present mill built in 1849. Was operated and owned by Isaac Ludwig under permanent water rights granted by the state of Ohio. It was located in the town of Providence, which was stop nine on the Miami and Erie Canal until the population was wiped out in the 1854 cholera epidemic.
Preserved as a historical site by the metropolitan park district of the Toledo area. , Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo R. Ludwig -1972 . This historical marker is in Providence in Lucas County Ohio
