1. Battery K, 1st United States Artillery Marker
Inscription. Ordered across Antietam Creek the morning of the battle, Graham's battery closely supported Richardson's Division as it attached the Confederates in the Sunken Road. Graham's battery had four men killed and five severely wounded. Seventeen horses were killed and another six wounded. While with the guns of this battery, General Richardson was mortally wounded by a ball from an artillery case shot.

Marker can be reached from the intersection of Bloody Lane and Richardson Avenue, on the left when traveling east. Marker is located in the field by a grove of bushes a few hundred yards north of the Bloody Lane Observation Tower at Antietam National Battlefield. Touch for map.
