1. The Durham Boat Marker
In the 1700's, Robert Durham built his historical boat in Durham, Pa. These boats were used to ship cannon balls, made at the Durham Furnace, to Philadelphia during the Revolutionary War. On Christmas Eve, in 1776, Washington and his men crossed the Delaware in Durham boats to attack the Hessians at Trenton.This replica of a Durham Boat and the pavilion were provided by the Durham Historical Society and the Lou Rupp Jr. Memorial Fund in January 2000.
