In 1898, E.E. Bolen established a nursery and orchard company in George County. Other wholesale nurseries were established in the early 1900s. The production of ornamental plants, trees and shrubs has since become a thriving commercial industry in the area.Erected 2001 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
