1. Caisson Trace Marker

Inscription. A trail used in early times by Indians, Spanish Explorers, French Settlers and later by soldiers during the battle of Spanish Fort 1865. At one time a stream driven train paralleled this trace. Its ancient road bed can still be seen south of this site.

Erected 1960 by the Spanish Fort Historical Society.
