Esta esquina lleva ambos nombres por haber sido primero una casa propiedad del Conde de Miraflores, único título nobililario que concedió la Corona española a los súbditos de Yucatán durante la colonia y posteriormente sede de la Lonja meridana, una sociedad literaria fundada el 28 de septiembre de 1846 por un grupo de jóvenes que gustaban de reunirse toda las noches para intercambiar impresiones, debatir temas literarios y artísticos.

This corner carries both names for having been first the property of a house of the Count of Miraflores, the only nobility title conceded by the Spanish Crown to the subjects of Yucatan during colonial times, and later hosted the Meridian Guild, a literary society
