1. Roop's Fort Marker
Inscription. Built in July 1854 by Isaac N. Roop. First called Roop's House, and used as stopping place by emigrant trains. It was the locale of the "sagebrush war" fought in 1863 between Plumas County and Lassen County citizens.
 
Erected by Susanville Parlor No. 243, Native Daughters of the Golden West. (Marker Number 76.)
 
Marker series. This marker is included in the Native Sons/Daughters of the Golden West marker series.
 
Location. 40° 25.118′ N, 120° 39.432′ W. Marker is in Susanville, California, in Lassen County. Marker can be reached from North Weatherlow Street, on the right when traveling north. Touch for map.
