Pittsfield Charter Township in Washtenaw County, Michigan — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
[lat N42 11.950 lon W083 44.425]
It consisted of four sub-units. The main front portion housed the carriages, harness, and tools. Horses could pull a carriage directly into the Carriage House. Then the horses would be unhitched and led through an interior door to the southern section, which functioned as the Stables. To the east is a lean-to shed [lat N42 11.950 lon W083 44.419] that also could shelter horses and equipment. At the southeast corner was the Chicken Coop [lat N42 11.943 lon W083 44.418]. You still can see the roof line along the Carriage House, which reveals where the Chicken Coop was attached to the Carriage House and Stables.
