Estimated Age 2,300 yrs.
Fell without warning June 3, 1959. The weather was clear with no wind. Sequoias lose their balance and fall when their shallow root systems are weakened by fire, erosion, or very wet soil.
 
Location. 36° 33.038′ N, 118° 45.896′ W. Marker is in Three Rivers, California, in Tulare County. Marker is on Crescent Meadow Road 1.3 miles south of Generals Hwy, on the left when traveling south. Touch for map. Located in Sequoia National Park. Marker is in this post office area: Three Rivers CA 93271, United States of America.
