Regarding Ohio Seventeenth Battery. This unit was attached to Brigadier General Andrew J. Smith's 10th Division, Major Generals John A. McClernand's (relieved of command June 19, 1863) and Edward O.C. Ord's XIII Army Corps, and commanded by Captain Ambrose A. Blount and Captain Charles S. Rice.
