This plaza was constructed and dedicated as a place in honor of our workers, who in 1916-1917 went before the Constituent Deputies of Querétaro demanding fair labor laws and whose claim resulted in the current Constitution’s Article 123.

The marker is on top of the raised platform with two sets of stairs. The metal railing around the monument was painted red, green and white (the colors of the Mexican flag) at one time. Note the nearby murals in the park.

This symbol of the Mexican Constitution tops the monument, with Article 123 (the article that describes workers' rights) written on the right side. The entire monument has been vandalized.
