More about this marker. When I initially contacted the National Military Park's historian, Jim Ogden, he was under the impression that this marker was still missing from where it was originally situated along South Crest Road. He was under the impression that the marker was currently being stored in the National Park Services Maintenance Shop. He provided me with a photograph of the marker which was on file in his office.

upon visiting the marker site I discovered that the marker had been restored to its proper location.

While there I noticed a slash across the text section of the marker and upon closely viewing the picture provided to me by Jim Ogden, showing the marker in the park maintenance shop, I noticed the slash existed on the marker then as well.
