Tangier in Accomack County, Virginia — The American South (Mid-Atlantic)
Chambers Lane
At the end of Chambers Lane in an area once known as Chambers Wharf, site of the John Chambers Store. Lorraine's Sandwich Shop now occupies the site of the first Post Office, built in 1891.
The homes at 4411 and 4413 Chambers Lane were moved here from Canaan Ridge in 1928 as the northern part of the island began to be unusable due to continual erosion and flooding, early evidence of global climate change.
