An intimidating presence at defensive end, he had a breakout season as a sophomore in 2011. He ranked sixth in the SEC in sacks (9.0) and eighth in tackles for loss (15.0). He finished the year with 49 total tackles and four quarterback hurries. He was a standout on a defense that led the SEC in sacks and tackles for loss and ranked in the top 15 nationally in those categories as well.
