fell mortally wounded in the
Battle of Buffington Island
July 19, 1863.

 
Erected 1933 by the Ten Districts of the Ohio Department, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
 
Location. 38° 59.681′ N, 81° 46.488′ W. Marker is in Portland, Ohio, in Meigs County. Marker is on Ohio River Scenic Byway (Ohio Route 124) 0.6 miles north of Barringer Ridge Road (County Road 30) when traveling north. Touch for map.
