1. Steuben’s Division Marker
Inscription. The 2,000 men of Major General Baron Von Steuben’s American Division bivouacked in the woods and fields to the right of the road. They were chiefly Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland units, and some others, such as sixty “Delaware Recruits” of Captain Wm. McKennan.

Location. 37° 12.139′ N, 76° 30.456′ W. Marker is in Yorktown, Virginia, in York County. Marker is on Historical Tour Drive, 0.6 miles west of Surrender Road (Virginia Route 634), on the left when traveling west. Marker is located on the Yorktown Battlefield in Colonial National Historical Park, on the Allied Encampment Tour. Touch for map.
