1. The Sykes Building Marker
Inscription. This building was originally the home and dental office of Doctor Mordecai Gist Sykes. Dr. Sykes was a prominent local businessman who served two terms as Ellicott City’s Mayor (1889-1897). The Building has since housed state and local county offices as well as professional and retail space. Tersiguel's Restaurant opened here in 1990.
