Inscription. Since 1859, The Dalles area Congregationalists have occupied four edifices, three of which were destroyed by fire. The present Tudor Gothic church has served since 1937. The church is distinguished by Tudor arches, Celtic crosses, corner bell tower, half-timbered stucco facade and stained-glass windows. The Rev. Thomas Condon, pastor of an earlier congregation, achieved wide recognition in scientific circles for his fossil and other geologic discoveries in the John Day River country.
