Iturbide en la Casa del Mendrugo
El 1 de agosto de 1821, el Primer Jefe del Ejército Imperial de la Tres Garantías, el General Don Agustín de lturbide y Arámburu, fue hospedado en La Casa del Mendrugo.

Al día siguiente partió del Mendrugo acompañado del Capitán José María Cozgaya, su tropa y escoltas, y realizó su entrada triunfal dirigiéndose a la plaza principal de la ciudad de Puebla.

Emperor Iturbide at La Casa del Mendrugo
On August 1, 1821, the Emperor of Mexico, Agustín de Iturbide, was hosted at La Casa del Mendrugo.

The next day, he left El Mendrugo accompanied by Captain José María Cozgaya, his troop and escorts, and made his triumphal entry in the main square of Puebla.
