The nine original buildings on this site
were designed by W.I. Turner and constructed by
Civilian Conservation Corps Companies 2523 and 1652
as well as Forest Service employees.
The rustic designs are an outstanding example of
the blending of native wood and locally quarried stone.
The Ranger Station has been in continual use
since its opening in March, 1937.
