1. The Guest House Marker
Inscription. The Guest House provided accommodations for visitors to the Clinton Engineering Works (Oak Ridge) during the time of the Manhattan Project, which led to the development of the atomic bomb. The Guest House hosted such dignitaries as physicists J. Robert Oppenheimer and Enrico Fermi and Secretary of War Henry Stimson.
