especially those who made the supreme sacrifice

Erected and dedicated by members of the
70th Infantry Division Association on 7 October 2017

The form of this monument is a replica of a memorial erected by the people of
the District of Forbach in France on Spicheren Heights, site of a major victory
of the 70th, which was dedicated on the 50th anniversary V-E Day, 8 May 1995

Located on the Walk of Honor, just to the south of the National Infantry Museum parade ground. Touch for map. 1. Additional Memorial on base
In addition to this marker in the public memorial garden, a similar memorial is on the grounds of Ft. Benning. It was dedicated in 1995 by the 70th Infantry Division Association when accessing the base was easier.
