1. Hard Times Square Marker
Inscription. If Vicksburgers found themselves in hard times, they probably ended up here. The jail, court house, funeral home and tombstone maker were all located at this intersection.

The current jail was built in 1906. The old death cells and gallows are still located in the tower. They were last used in 1939 when a man was hung for murder.
