Esta casa fue edificada en los terrenos del antiguo Convento de La Concepción. El arquitecto Carlos Malau la diseñó a solicitud del presidente Jorge Ubico Castañeda; funcionó como residencia de los mandatarios de Guatemala hasta 1996.

Entre sus ambientes destacan el Patio de Representación, el Salón de los Espejos y el Salón Chino.

Fue construida e inaugurada en distintas etapas, desde 1933 hasta 1943; la fachada que funciona como elemento unificador es de estilo Art-Decó y cuenta con tres puertas enmarcadas con pilastras y remates ascendentes. En esta obra también participó el arquitecto Rafael Pérez de León y el artista Rodolfo Galeotti Torres.

The most notable areas of the house are the “Patio de Representación” [Performance Patio], the “Salón de los Espejos” [Hall of Mirrors] and “Salón Chino” [Chinese Hall].

It was built and inaugurated in different periods, from 1933 to 1943. The Art Deco façade serves as a unifying element, with three doors framed with pilasters and ascending finishings. Architect Rafael Pérez de León and artist Rodolfo Galeotti Torres also participated in this process.
