This fountain was erected during the Administration of General Jorge Ubico on February 14, 1935

General Matías de Galvez governed the Captaincy of Guatemala from 1778-1783
As Viceroy of New Spain, he died in Mexico in 1784

He introduced the first printing press to Guatemala in 1660

Friar Bartolomé de las Casas, Protector of the Indians 1536
Bishop of Chiapas and Evangelical Conqueror of Verapaz

Bernal Diaz de Castillo, Historian of Guatemala and Mexico
He wrote his work in Antigua Guatemala in the 16th century

The Restoration was presented to the City of Guatemala in 2010
