More about this marker. Marker is a large metal plaque, mounted at waist-level, on the east-facing side of the concrete pedestal supporting a carved wooden statue of a fur trader.
Also see . . . Cadott's long, rich history started with a fur-trading family. In 1865, Robert Marriner built a dam at Cadotte Falls. He established a village near where Michel Cadotte had set up his trading post. Marriner intended to honor the French-Indian fur traders with the name of his village. But for some reason, the name village was shortened to Cadott. (Submitted on July 19, 2018, by Cosmos Mariner of Cape Canaveral, Florida.)
