Regarding World’s Largest Blossoming Plant. Wistaria is an alternative spelling of Wisteria. The vine was purchased in 1894 by Mrs. William (Alice) Brugman from the old Wilson nursery in Monrovia for seventy-five cents. Over time, the vine grew so large that it crushed the original house. Now the vine spans two back yards, on private property. It can be viewed one day a year in March during the annual Sierra Madre Wistaria Festival.
