After an all night's march from the vicinity of Pond Spring and the Widow Glenn's, the Battery came into position on this ground in center of Brigade, soon after noon, from which point some 180 rounds of ammunition were expended. The enemy's line and the troops on the right having given way soon after 3 pm the Brigade and Battery changed front to the right and south, and as the enemy advanced from that direction the Battery threw a few rounds of canister when the Brigade charged, followed by the Battery. After advancing some distance the Battery again came into position firing canister and case shot. It was then ordered back to former position and thence to a ridge near the Chattanooga road, where it bivouacked for the night.
