79th Indiana, Colonel Frederick Knefler.
9th Kentucky, Colonel George H. Cram.
17th Kentucky, Colonel Alexander M. Stoutt.
19th Ohio, Lieutenant Colonel Henry G. Strantton.
26th Pennsylvania Battery, Captain Alanson J. Stevens.
This Brigade, with Dick's of the same Division on its right, and Palmer's Division to its left, formed on this ground about 1:30 p.m. and advanced. A short distance in front the line became engaged, and captured Carnes' Confederate Battery. The Brigade was successively attacked by Clayton's, Brown's and Bate's Brigades of Stewart's Division. Brown's Brigade recapturing Carnes' Battery, and Beatty was forced across the Lafayette Road at Brotherton's at 3:30 p.m. Here the Brigade rallied on Van Cleve's new line.
