Inscription. Following the fire of January 21, 1910, in downtown Wiggins, Gulf and Ship Island Railroad officials replaced the two-story, wooden depot lost lo the blaze with a one-story wood frame structure. In the late 1990s, when the Kansas City Southern Railway System decided to demolish the 1910 depot, the City of Wiggins acquired the property. In December 2000, the structure was moved to the corner of Hatten Avenue and First Street where it became the headquarters of the Economic Development Partnership.
