1. Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Marker
Inscription. Second oldest church in Long Beach. Organized April 24, 1880 as Bethel Baptist Church affiliated with the Hobolochitta Association by Baptist Missionary J.P. Johnston and several members of the "Sunshine Church" (established by R. W. Conn in the 1870's). Around 1884 the name was changed to Antioch. In 1885 Sunshine combined with Antioch and the church joined the Red Creek Association. The first church was built in 1881 on the present site. As the church grew, additions were made to the building. It was replaced by the present masonry building dedicated on July 29, 1962. Property deeded to the church in 1905 by W. J. Quarles.

Erected 2003 by Long Beach Historical Society and Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
