The Old
Customs House
This early 19th century building was the Storekeeper's offices for this site - HM Gunwharf, Portsmouth. It became the Captain's office/HMS Vernon administrative block between 1923 and 1986 when Vernon ceased to be a separate command. The building was used only briefly as offices for HM Customs and Excise in the early 1990s when revenue cutters used Vernon Creek.
 
Location. 50° 47.698′ N, 1° 6.392′ W. Marker is in Portsmouth, England, in Hampshire County. Marker can be reached from the intersection of England Route B2154 and Park Road, on the left when traveling north. Touch for map. Located in the Gunwharf Quays mall.
