Location. 39° 15.017′ N, 81° 36.717′ W. Marker is near Wellsley, West Virginia, in Wood County. Marker is at the intersection of Dupont Road (West Virginia Route 95) and West Virginia Route 68, on the right when traveling east on Dupont Road. It is at the Route 50 interchange with Dupont Road, which changes route number here from Route 95 to Route 862. Route 68 is the road to Lubeck. Touch for map. More about this marker. Why the marker is here and not closer to Blennerhassett Island is not known. U.S. 50 crosses Blennerhassett Island on its way to Ohio but has no exit on the island. The island is a state park and can be reached by boat from Parkersburg.
