1. Centinela Springs Marker
Inscription.  On this site, bubbling springs once flowed from their source in a deep water basin which has existed continuously since the Pleistocene Era. Prehistoric animals, Indians, and early Inglewood settlers were attracted here by the pure artesian water. The springs and valley were named after sentinels guarding cattle in the area.
 
Erected 1970 by California State Parks; and Historical Society of Centinela Valley. (Marker Number 363.)
 
Location. 33° 58.464′ N, 118° 20.558′ W. Marker is in Inglewood, California, in Los Angeles County. Marker can be reached from Warren Lane 0.3 miles east of Centinela Avenue.
